After missing a year, due to COVID, the WBS Jazz Night was back in force.

A welcome return

It was with great joy that we were able to hold our annual WBS Jazz Night again, after an absence of a year due to COVID and the huge demand for tickets showed how much we had all missed it!

Held, for the first time, at the spectacular Saunton Sands hotel, the guests were, once again, treated to a fabulous dinner, swinging music and the chance to get up and dance the night away.

So much talent on display

It was so wonderful for our talented musicians to be able to give us a flavour of what we had been missing for so long.  In addition to some very accomplished sets performed by WBS Jazz, there were some notable vocal numbers performed by Year 11 Megan Brown and Assistant Houseparent, Kimberley Turner. The music continued throughout dinner, including Year 13, Alex Bingham performing a fabulous saxophone piece.  And who could forget our favourite Wellermen – aka Dom Carter, Michael Burstow, Guy Monk and Nick Smith?

A great team effort

There is always a team of hard working individuals behind these sorts of events and a huge thank you needs to go to a number of our staff for their extraordinary efforts. Firstly, to Amanda Reynolds and Monica Carter-Burns, in the Foundation office, who brought the whole event together to be the success that it was.  We couldn’t have done it without the wonderful band and, in particular, to Michael Burstow and Dom Carter for their hard work in producing some a wonderful and entertaining musical set. Roll on next year….
