This term has been an exciting whirlwind of activities for our boarders at West Buckland School. From adventurous outdoor pursuits to cosy evenings of creativity and connection, our students have embraced every opportunity to bond, grow, and make lasting memories. Here’s a snapshot of the incredible experiences that have defined this term for our boarding community.

Rib ride adventure in Ilfracombe

Thrilling Rib Ride Adventure in Ilfracombe! Our boarders recently embarked on an exhilarating trip to Ilfracombe, where they experienced the thrill of a Rib ride along the stunning North Devon coastline. With two fast ribs, the students had the opportunity to see hidden beaches once used for wrecking and smuggling. The crew guided them to discover amazing little coves, perfect for future summer trips on sea kayaks. The high-speed ride was a highlight, providing an unforgettable adventure for everyone involved.

Ultimate Adventure

Ultimate Adventure Team Bonding Trip! Our boarders recently took on the Ultimate Adventure, where they bonded through a grueling water assault course. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the challenge of hopping over the two Total Wipeout-style inflatable balls. Much fun was had by all, with laughter and cheers echoing throughout the course. A special congratulations to Rense for being the first boarder to conquer both inflatable balls!

Junior Boarding in Gables

Junior boarding in Gables has been a great success this term, providing a supportive environment for our youngest boarders. Students have quickly settled in forming new friendships and enjoying shared activities. With a strong sense of community and a variety of engaging experiences, Gables continues to be a popular choice for junior boarders.

Pizza Night

To celebrate the conclusion of the Year 11 mock exams, our boarders came together to craft and cook an impressive 100 pizzas using our new wood pellet pizza ovens. It was the perfect way to relax, bond and enjoy the well-deserved rewards of their hard work!
