Flight Simulators in The Loft

Our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) recently tested the new flight simulators in our digital media suite, The Loft. Guided by Sgt Stuart Spark, the session aimed to provide hands-on experience with advanced flight simulation technology.

The session began with students adjusting settings and key configurations, encountering a few initial challenges. However, this trial-and-error process helped them quickly adapt to the controls and become comfortable with the simulators.

Once set up, the students took turns flying various in-built aircraft. They engaged in discussions about the handling characteristics of different planes, noting how each model responded differently in flight.

Sgt Stuart Spark’s guidance was invaluable, helping students understand the practical aspects of aerodynamics and Principles of Flight. The session provided a practical complement to their CCF training, enhancing their skills and knowledge. The cadets in the future can complete the Bronze ATP (Aviation Training Package) Badge, where Sgt Spark is qualified to deliver this course to Air Cadets.

We look forward to many more sessions in The Loft, where technology and education combine to create unforgettable learning experiences. Our versatile digital media suite, offers students the opportunity to learn digital media production, graphic design, coding, esports and more, as well as using flight simulators.
