What do you think great tutoring looks like?
Nurturing pupils and helping them build their skills to become the best versions of themselves academically, socially and emotionally, is always my priority here at WBS. Tutoring is not simply taking a register and having an informal natter; it is a foundation that helps craft strong rapports and inspires a love for both living and learning on a personalised level.
Which year group do you tutor and what do you find fulfilling about tutoring at this stage of school life?
I tutor my wonderful Year 7 pupils. Fulfilment is accomplished by teaching them independence, challenging them to be reflective learners. It is hugely rewarding to inspiring them to acknowledge their own self-worth and importance as individuals within a wider community.
When tutoring gets really challenging what do you think about to keep providing the amazing guidance you do?
It’s so important to remember that the smallest act can have such a profound impact on a child’s life and schooling experience.
What would you say to prospective parents and students who are thinking about coming to WBS and potentially anxious about the move?
