Educated at West Buckland and Sandhurst. Commissioned in 1979 in the Devon and Dorset Regiment. Deputy Project Leader of Project Vanguard (£600m), Commissioning Officer of Rifle Volunteers. Head of Simulation Training for recruits and trainees. Retired as a Regimental Colonel of the Rifles in 2014. Ian is a former West Buckland pupil and parent.
