Verena is currently the Archdeacon of Barnstaple. She holds the equivalent of a master’s degree in theology, having studied at Bonn and St John’s Oxford.
Verena is a German Lutheran minister. After she moved to the UK in 2000 she became an Anglican priest. Before she moved to North Devon, her previous posts were as the vicar of a rural benefice in Chester Diocese, Chaplain to the Cheshire Agricultural Society, Rural Dean of Macclesfield and most recently as Team Rector of Bicester in the Oxford Diocese.
Verena is married to Jason, a structural biologist in R and D for AstraZeneca and they have two grown up children.
