Our Head of Biology, Noah Shawcross, saw an article about the request to schools for protective eyewear for medics, which you can read about here https://www.theguardian.com/education/2020/mar/25/schools-asked-donate-science-goggles-nhs-use-face-shields
In response to this, all our science labs have donated their protective eyewear, including goggles and glasses, to local GP surgeries.
The school has remained open to take care of the children of key workers so our caterers Holroyd Howe have kindly stayed open to keep everyone sustained. One of the unseen benefits of this is that the leftover fruit and vegetables and the peelings are being donated to Exmoor Zoo to feed the animals. Following a rain-soaked few months and now the current pandemic keeping the zoo closed to visitors for the foreseeable future, we are glad to do a little bit to help.
