West Buckland COVID-19 updates

With the end of term approaching, we turn our attention to September and what we are expecting to be a full return to lessons.  For information on what we have achieved and what how we are planning for September, please click here.

As a BSA school we have signed up to their COVID-Safe Charter, available here.  In addition, and to endorse our commitment to ensuring the safety of our students and staff, we have created our own WBS Hygiene Charter.

For our new and returning international students, our Frequently Asked Questions document will provide useful information and reassurances. Please view it here.

How West Buckland is supporting the Community

Our Head of Biology, Noah Shawcross, saw an article about the request to schools for protective eyewear for medics, which you can read about here https://www.theguardian.com/education/2020/mar/25/schools-asked-donate-science-goggles-nhs-use-face-shields

In response to this, all our science labs have donated their protective eyewear, including goggles and glasses, to local GP surgeries.

The school has remained open to take care of the children of key workers so our caterers Holroyd Howe have kindly stayed open to keep everyone sustained. One of the unseen benefits of this is that the leftover fruit and vegetables and the peelings are being donated to Exmoor Zoo to feed the animals. Following a rain-soaked few months and now the current pandemic keeping the zoo closed to visitors for the foreseeable future, we are glad to do a little bit to help.
