The school has been shortlisted in the TES School Awards 2022, recognising the fantastic environmental and sustainability work inspired by our Head of Biology, Mr Noah Shawcross.

The school is also a finalist in the ‘Special Sixth Form’ category, and highly commended in the Giving Something Back category of the Muddy Stilettos awards for 2022.

WBS Shooting Stars

Three of our cadets took part in the British Shooting Schools Championships and came third overall in the 10m air rifle category.

Three cadets ranked individually in the Top 30

West Buckland School CCF were represented by CSM Allaway and Sgts Ayres and Savory at the British Shooting Schools Championships. Having travelled up to Stafford, the three took part in the individual and team shoots in the 10M Air Rifle.

Competing against representatives from schools, clubs and CCFs from across Britain, the three competitors did very well with all of them being ranked in the top 30 and as a team they succeeded in coming third.

This is a fantastic result for the cadets and reflects upon their hard work and commitment. This result provides an excellent foundation for the next generations of cadets to build upon. Thanks to SSI Flynn and Capt. Harding who drove and accompanied the cadets throughout the day.
