Down Time in Sixth Form

West Buckland School has some amazing facilities that students can enjoy as part of the Sixth Form.

We recognise that, despite this being an important and intense period of study, Sixth Form can’t be all about work. Parker’s has been designed to provide a number of ‘chill out’ areas where students can socialise and relax between their studies. As well as the numerous opportunities to get involved in scheduled extra-curricular activities going on either within the working day, or after school, students can enjoy each other’s company, relaxing in the many lounge areas.

Boarding is increasingly popular in the Sixth Form, and students have access to most areas of the school in the evenings, whether it be the Art building, music, sports hall or swimming pool. Many boarders will play tennis or five a side football in the summer evenings, whilst in the winter months, boarders’ choir and ‘film and popcorn’ nights are very popular!

The kitchen area is always popular, being used for impromptu cookery nights or even ‘Bake Off’ competitions!

A post-A-level leavers’ ball is a highlight of the year and marks a fitting end to the students’ exams and the start of the new chapter of their lives…
