The school has been shortlisted in the TES School Awards 2022, recognising the fantastic environmental and sustainability work inspired by our Head of Biology, Mr Noah Shawcross.
The school is also a finalist in the ‘Special Sixth Form’ category, and highly commended in the Giving Something Back category of the Muddy Stilettos awards for 2022.
Making the most of some lovely late summer sunshine, we have had a very busy start to the new academic year with activities for all ages.
From surfing trips to high wires and finishing with a fun BBQ and team games, this was a fabulous way for our new boarders to settle into life in their new school. It was also a chance for our Head Houseparent of Boyer House, Graham Bloxham to settle in a get to know his current flock!
Prep 6 conquered the second peak in their Three Peak Challenge, battling the elements to reach the summit of first Rough Tor and then Brown Willy. Lunch was a rather soggy affair, but the afternoon walk involved a little sunshine and a view of the beautiful North Cornwall Coast. Next on the hit list is High Willhays, which Year 6 will tackle in June!
The Year 7s and 8s have enjoyed a few days camping and undertaking conservation work. The Year 7s have been working towards their John Muir Awards and on Friday, after a night’s camping, they have been undertaking a beach clean as part of their conservation work. They have been under the watchful eye of wardens on the Northam burrows.
