West Buckland Athletes Break Three National Records at Prep School Finals

West Buckland produced stand-out performances at the National Prep School Athletics Finals held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on Saturday.

Linus Emuna came 3rd in the U14 boys high jump with a new personal best of 1.63, as well as running in the 100m heats.

Eden Robinson broke the UK national U13 record for the long jump with a jump of 5.29m, and also broke the U13 national record for 200m. Bella Lawson performed impressively in the heats in the 100m and 200m races, eventually securing bronze medals in both events. During the heats for the 4 x 100m relay, the team broke the national record by 0.01 seconds. Alongside Bella in the relay final, which was her sixth race of the day, Jasmine and Codie Clark also performed outstandingly and Eden brought the team home, smashing their own new record by carving another 0.3 seconds off their time.
