Year 13, Andrew S, will be the Lord-Lieutenant Cadet (LLC) for Devon, for a year, after he was nominated for this prestigious position for his achievements and commitment to the Army Cadet Force (Braunton Detachment) and also the West Buckland CCF (Air Training Corps).
Andrew was presented with his Certificate of Appointment by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for Devon, Mr David Fursdon, who is the personal representative for his Majesty, King Charles III. The event was hosted by the Wessex Reserve Forces’ & Cadets’ Association.
For the next year, Andrew will act as the Lord-Lieutenant Cadet for Devon and will attend and assist the Lord-Lieutenant, his Vice Lord-Lieutenant and Deputies at high profile civic and military occasions throughout the County as well as acting as an ambassador for the cadet units and organisation.
West Buckland CCF has a long and prestigious history and is extremely popular amongst students from Year 9. Through the CCF, cadets are able to access invaluable courses, such as leadership courses, which support their development and are highly favoured by universities and employers.
