What is included in the fees?

  • West Buckland School does not charge an additional tuition fee for pupils who use the Personalised Learning Department: however, there may be some additional charges associated with the writing of a diagnostic report leading to access arrangements and specific 1:1 support sessions.
  • Stationery and text books.
  • Personal accident insurance.
  • Field trips and visits required as part of the curriculum teaching programme up to Year 11.
  • All extracurricular activities including sports fixtures, music, drama and many other clubs.
  • First sitting of IELTS Exams.
  • All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
  • Access to facilities out of hours including swimming pool, fitness suite and art studio.
  • Saturday morning bus to Barnstaple for shopping.
  • English as an Additional Language (EAL) tuition.
  • London Heathrow shuttle bus pick-up and drop-off at beginning and end of every holiday and half term holiday.

*The London Heathrow pick-up and drop-off service runs on a timetable with pre-planned pick-up and drop-off times at Terminal 5.

Students must book their flights to fit with the pick-up and drop-off times. All students must contact the school for the details of the service prior to booking their flights. Details are available from our admissions team

What is not included?

  • Uniform and school sports kit.
  • Private music tuition for instrumentalists and singers.
  • Fees to re-sit public examinations. Exam fees for GCSEs, IGCSEs, A-levels and EAL qualifications.
  • 1:1 tutoring/support sessions.
  • Assessment for access arrangements for external exams.
  • Voluntary evening and weekend extracurricular and social activities for boarders may incur a charge**
  • Guardianship – it is the responsibility of parents to appoint a suitable guardian for international students.
  • Transport fee of £200 per term for BNO students.
  • Compliance management fee for visas (£450)

**Such activities may include the likes of climbing, paintballing, surfing and cinema trips along with visits to cities such as Exeter and Bristol.
