West Buckland School Fees

The Governors of West Buckland School have set the following fees from September 2026.  Fees are reviewed on an annual basis.

 

Fees (UK Students)

Effective from September 2026

West Buckland School fees for both UK and International students include additional benefits that ensures inclusivity for every child, with a Lenovo L13 device for the duration of their study years at the school, curriculum-based trips included, onsite outdoor learning activities, strength and conditioning, all books, curriculum learning support classes, support to prepare for Oxbridge/medical and veterinary University applications, academic enrichment with external speakers, as well as free admission to all Arts at West Buckland events for pupils.

What is included in the fees?

  • West Buckland School does not charge an additional tuition fee for pupils who use the Personalised Learning Department: however, there may be some additional charges associated with the writing of a diagnostic report leading to access arrangements and specific 1:1 support sessions.
  • Stationery and text books.
  • Personal accident insurance.
  • Field trips and visits required as part of the curriculum teaching programme up to Year 11.
  • All extracurricular activities including sports fixtures, music, drama and many other clubs.
  • First sitting of IELTS Exams.
  • All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
  • Access to facilities out of hours including swimming pool, fitness suite and art studio.
  • Saturday morning bus to Barnstaple for shopping.
  • English as an Additional Language (EAL) tuition.
  • London Heathrow shuttle bus pick-up and drop-off at beginning and end of every holiday and half term holiday.

*The London Heathrow pick-up and drop-off service runs on a timetable with pre-planned pick-up and drop-off times at Terminal 5.

Students must book their flights to fit in with the pick-up and drop-off times. All students must contact the school for the details of the service prior to booking their flights. Details are available from our admissions team

What is not included?

  • Uniform and school sports kit.
  • Private music tuition for instrumentalists and singers.
  • Fees to re-sit public examinations. Exam fees for GCSEs, IGCSEs, A-levels and EAL qualifications.
  • 1:1 tutoring/support sessions.
  • Assessment for access arrangements for external exams.
  • Voluntary evening and weekend extracurricular and social activities for boarders may incur a charge**
  • Guardianship – it is the responsibility of parents to appoint a suitable guardian for international students.
  • Transport fee of £200 per term for BNO students.
  • Compliance management fee for visas (£450)

**Such activities may include the likes of climbing, paintballing, surfing and cinema trips along with visits to cities such as Exeter and Bristol.
