Sixth Form Boarding offers a unique blend of academic excellence and personal growth within a vibrant and supportive community.
Our Sixth Form boarders (Year 12 and 13) will reside in Parker’s, the Sixth Form boarding house featuring 70 single en suite bedrooms. Occasionally, Year 12 students may also have the chance to board in double rooms within the Junior Houses (Boyer and Bamfylde) for one or two terms, fostering lasting friendships within a smaller community setting. Year 13 students will spend the entire year boarding in Parker’s.
Boarding is perfect for providing a balanced learning environment, creating more time in the day for both work and relaxation, and the pastoral care that will help you to navigate through the Sixth Form and beyond.
Sixth Form boarding is the ideal preparation for independent living at university, whilst encouraging a good work ethic and developing vital time management skills.
At Parker’s, where Sixth Form boarders spend the majority of their time, the open-plan social areas, utilised by both day and boarding students, ensure that everyone can mix and socialise in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
The presence of kitchen areas, breakout rooms, and communal areas allows students to manage their own schedules, balance their commitments, and still find time to unwind.
Boarders in the Sixth Form benefit from being able to use many of the fabulous sports and recreational facilities in the evenings and weekends, including the pool, sports hall, fitness suite, music rooms and art studios, as well as our Sixth Form study area in the Michael Morpurgo Library.
Weekends are always busy for our boarders, with shopping expeditions, cultural visits to nearby cities, and activities including surfing, paintballing, sports activities, cinema trips and cookery afternoons ensure that there is something for everyone.
